xbox made a popping sound and now wont turn on

i just got my xbox today and all i did was turn it on and update it and then try to set up my avatar and then there was this loud popping noise and it turned off. i tried plugging it in again and waiting 5 minutes and putting it in again and then more
and more times and it still won't work. i tried using differen't outlets and different tvs and different hdmi cables and still doesn't turn on. i dont know whats going on and i just got my xbox one x today.

This may sound like a simple or even ridiculous question, but was the Xbox excessively cold when you hooked it up? That is to say was it stored outside before being turned on? Generally a popping sound coming from any electronics is not good, did you happen
to notice a smell of burnt electronics? when it is not in use for the safety of you and your home I would keep it unplugged until this issue is resolved.

Sorry to hear it. It sounds like you got a defective console. Your best bet here to get a replacement the quickest would be to return it for an exchange.

I'm sorry to hear that this happened to you with your Xbox, mostly when this happens or makes this type of noise it is because the power supply is damaged, and obviously it will not turn on since it is damaged it is in charge of distributing the energy in the console. You have 2 options:

The first is to go to a friend who has an Xbox just like yours from the same series and borrow their power supply and attach it to your Xbox to find out if this is the real problem.

And the other thing is to request a repair directly from Xbox, through this link: http://myservice.xbox.com
