xbox LT Button not working on Minecraft

Hi,

I have been using an Xbox USB plugged controller on my PC to play games. Until now, I have had no issues with it through various games.

Three days ago (Aug. 31), I was playing Minecraft for some time without any sort of problem until I died in the game. When I went to pick up my items and to place some blocks, I realized that I was not able to. After many tests and resets, I realized that it was the LT button, only on Minecraft, that did not work. If I changed the binding to a different button, I was able to use it as the LT replacement.

Some things that I have done to try and fix this:

Reset the game.

Checked game for any updates but no new updates are available and there was no update during that time that may have changed something.

Tried it on a different version of the game.

Tried to re-bind the LT button, but the game does not show it as active/recognize it whenever I press it to bind it.

Checked to see if it was the physical controller by playing other games, but the LT button works fine in those games.

Checked and updated any controller drivers.

Controller is up to date per the update check.

Checked for any Windows updates but everything is up to date.

Reset calibration/settings in the controller.

Unplugged and plugged in the controller.

I am not sure what else to try.

Upon reading the description you have posted, it seems that you have an issue with Xbox wherein even after trying a number of troubleshooting steps you are still unable to fix the LT button of your Xbox controller when you play Minecraft.

Let’s work together in finding the best solution to this issue.

For me to better understand the issue, I’d like to ask a few questions:

• Where you able to try using a spare controller and checked if it has the same behavior?

• Have you already tried to send a Bug ticket with this current problem that you have to the Minecraft support website? As this could be a game specific issue. In the meantime, we would like you to provide us with some answers first to the questions above. In order for us to provide you with a more accurate solution.

Thank you for your response.

Unfortunately, I do not have a spare Xbox controller to try it with. If it is the physical controller, I would replace it but I want to make sure first since this controller is fairly new (about 3 months).

I have tried Minecraft on my Switch, and the LT button works there fine in the same world with the Switch controller I have.

I have not submitted anything to Minecraft, since I did not think it was a problem on their side, but I will go ahead and submit one there.

you should redownload the game (long download due to GB content), multiplayer add on, and the 3 deck add ons (free or pay to unlock playable decks). i cannot confirm that the expansion is necessary, but since there are additional decks with the expansion,
the same rule may apply to them as it does to the 3 other deck add ons. idk if there is a free expansion download like with the 3 decks so that your multiplayer experience can "recognize" the expansion decks of other players.

You must download all free decks, so the system can read your opponents dlc decks.
