Xbox logo causing image retention or burn in on my Panasonic plasma

Ive contacted xbox support and searched the forums to not much help. I'm never on the home screen too long and I noticed the Xbox logo image on my expensive TV. I've tried watching regular TV and used the built in screen image ret wipe with not much success.
It always shows on top right of screen especially when the color behind is light. This is not included with the warranty even though I bought an extended one. Now it's hard to navigate the console because the nexus appears everywhere. Even bought an xbox music
subscription that uses same logo. this needs to be fixed. If not compensated at least remove the logo or let it be transparent.

Note for plasma owners!

Just a quick heads up...but ive noticed the xbox logo on the xbox one dash is murder for image retention on plasmas, specifically my gt60!
As its white against a black background must be very easy to burn in, the only time ive noticed image retention in 6 months of owning the tv.

 

Anyone have this tv?

Burn-in hasn't been a problem on Panasonic sets for 3 years. A lot of people confuse image retention for burn-in. As for the lack of HDMI inputs, You can aways buy a cheap HDMI switcher or get the ST50 mode.

Anyway you'll get far better image quality from the Panasonic than from Vizo.

 

Does your plasma not have the setting that shifts stationary images around so you don't have image burn?

 

Plasma TV's and the phosphors that create the image on the screen have improved over the last few years becoming efficient and quicker to decay. Screen burn is harder to do - but not impossible.

Most plasmas have anti-retention tech (such as wipes/screen brighteners/moving images around etc). Older plasmas might not have all these.

I would suggest you have a look at your plasma TV manual. You might have burn-in problems which you might be able to sort.

Even though its less common now somewhere in that manual you'll still find a warning in it about burn-in, which is not covered by the manufacturer's warranty precisely because the manufacturer considers burn-in to be caused by improper use of the display.

 

I'm very upset about the lack of responsibility on Microsofts part on this issue. I've spent thousands of dollars on both the tv and Microsoft and to get a "not our problem" response is not ok. I've seen multiple people post on this issue and we are now
stuck with unacceptable TVs. I'm grateful for people trying to help but it's sickening that there is no solution.
