    XBOX Login on Windows 8 Games


    Hello folks,

    I noticed for a couple of days that games originally made for Windows 8 cannot sign into the XBOX Network (or XBOX Live). These games can run on Windows 10 even though they were made before Windows 10 was officially released. I went to XBOX Support on the matter but I decided to post it here so that you can get an idea as to what is going on. I know that XBOX services were due to expire on April 5 on the Windows 8 versions of the Microsoft Casual Games (including Taptiles). However, implementing this closure has caused all Windows 8 games (including the non casual ones) to be unable to sign in. At first, the closure was reversed for a month. Services shut down for a brief while in May and now it is down for 4 days now. No Windows 8 game can sign in, whether they run on Windows 8.1 or Windows 10. I would like to know if this shut down is permanent on all Windows 8 games and if so, I am requesting that a formal announcement be made by XBOX on their pages. If that is not the case, I am proposing (especially if the casual games cannot be separated from the other Windows 8 games) that this be fixed, a date for closure be set and a formal announcement be made so that we can prepare ourselves and finish getting achievements for our Windows 8 games before the shutdown date.

    We have Xbox Live and Music connected to one account, I want to be able to use Xbox music and Xbox Smartglass on Windows 8 - but by logging into my own individual microsoft account.

    Essentially, my login is separate from my windows 8 login. I want to just go to Xbox music within Windows 8 and login to the account that has those services online.

    That's because you forgot that games for Windows is shutdown years ago you have to download the steam games for Windows client

    There are no more servers

    Windows 10 runs xbox games for windows 10
