If you no longer have access to your account and you are experiencing this problem, the best thing in my opinion would be to submit an account recovery form, to do so you must enter the following link.

Once you have filled out the form, the team in charge of these cases will study your situation and make a decision about it. This usually takes a while but don't worry, it is one of the only options you have to regain access to your account.

From what I understand, Microsoft Support does not help recover accounts anymore, however if you want to talk to them to get a little more information you can do so by going to this page.

There you must select the Contact Us button, then enter the problem you are presenting and follow the steps indicated there. You will then be redirected to a live chat (You can also request a call) with a Support agent where you can explain what happened and they can give you some useful information. It is recommended to contact him during business hours.

First check that the status page is indicating a problem on the site: https://support.xbox.com/en-US/xbox-live-status and that your internet connection is working
properly.

Try a different browser, avoid using ad blocker. You can change your gamertag by the current system:

https://account.xbox.com/ChangeGamertag

Or by the new system: https://social.xbox.com/en-us/changegamertag

The problem seems to be the site generating cookies that later causes this error. Just delete the cookies from the browser you are using and you are good to go.

I wish EA would get rid of this Origin crap. I created an origin account in what probably feels like a decade ago, with an email that no longer exists and a password I don't remember and to this day I still can't fix it. I'm getting tired of creating bogus
emails just to play some EA games, I shouldn't have to justify, for example, my $120 purchase with an email confirmation every time I want to play a new release. That's what it feels like anyway. Right now, I can't try out the beta and I can't play BF4 because
of an invalid email I haven't used in nearly 15 years. F U EA!
