Xbox log in not working although it is correct

I cannot log into the Xbox accout although i am using the same email account and password i am to log in on other microsoft accounts, such as this forum.

i ve tried several times and it says the password is incorrect and its not.

the xbox says weneed to log in, so we did and then it says the password is wrong and asks me to change it if forgotten (not forgotten!).

I looked to change it, but it wouldnt allow me to move to the the next stage. So, i clicked forgot password and then it asked where it should send my v code and i clicked on my mobile number, but then had no way of clicking any other section to activate
a code to be sent.

I have tried several times, my son has tried and nothing changes.

Please advise

Password is correct. I can log in to email with it. And if I try to log xbox site with false password, it does not log in. The error comes with correct password.

no kidding! Trying to log into Xbox live is a real pain trying to set up the account. Email and passwords not working when I know they are correct.

If so, be sure to check if all security settings are correct.

Only for Xbox 360:

If this happens when on a Xbox 360 console, then be aware that passwords longer then 16 characters will not be working on the 360 console. If that is the case please change the password to a shorter one.

I have a similiar issue atm. I tired to Log In on my Xbox but it just gives me an error code and asks me to try again later. My phones Xbox app works fine and lets me sign In.

 

Ho. I just cuanged ky password via link on microsoft and the tried logging in. Now xbox is saying there is an error and to try again later.....could it be the xbox rather than my account?

 

Try these steps Go to Settings> Account> Delete accounts. Once done, reboot the console and add your account.

 

Its a temporary fix it comes back in a few days.

Its a temporary fix it happened to me on the 29th and today on the 1st it will happen again and you have to do it over again.

 

Hello, reset your Xbox to factory settings only by deleting your account. Without deleting games and applications. This workaround will remove this issue.
