Xbox loading (black screen) and making "crunchy" sounds

Our xbox s is not loading (black screen). It is making "crunchy" sounds. I am about to send it off for repair as it is on warranty and I've tried all the known fixes you can find on the internet. My kids are worried about their game saves being lost. I've
assured them that they should all be safe "on the cloud" but I have a sliver of doubt. If they can't fix the console and replace it, will their progress be lost? Not the end of the world but I'd rather not have any (more) surprises/let downs. Thanks community.

Thanks for the tip. I only have a basic account, not sure if it is gold or not. Should that matter?

Hi George,

Thanks for reaching out to the forums. We understand you have question on game saves. All progress game purchases are attached to the profile themselves. With an Xbox one if they have a gold subscription all this is automatically saved to the cloud. Once
you get the console back just
add the profiles to the console and install the games. Once you launch the game it will sync the last save data from the cloud. Important note when sending the console for repair only send the console. Do not send controller power cord or anything else.

No. any game that you own will be preserved in cloud (save of it)

Does this work if it loads to a black screen only. On March 2nd I cold rebooted my console, due to lag on the tv side. When I turned it on the screen stays black. Light on console comes on and make the sound when power button is pressed. After that just
a black screen.
