Having issues with purchasing xbox live gold for the discounted price for the black friday sale. When on my xbox one and even on the xbox website it is not giving me the option to get the black friday sale.

Sorry to hear that is happening. We would like to clarify what offer are you trying to get? Is it the one month deal for $1? If so, on our website it has a small statement at the bottom of the page:

I spoke to Xbox Live manager and he stated that I should still be able to get the promotion due to me seeing it on my dashboard, pretty much for the past week.

 

It is for the 50% black friday sale.

 

I thought it was available for everyone as well (if you mean the discounted 6 month offer). Its on my dash as well but when I click through all I see is 1 month.

 

That is exactly what I'm talking about. I see it when I press the home button on my controller and on my dashboard.

 

I see offers on my dashboard all the time that I don't qualify for. For instance, I can see the $1 Game Pass promotion, and I'm a current subscriber, so I don't qualify for that offer.

The $1 Game Pass promotion requires that you don't have a current subscription, or haven't subscribed since the end of September 2018. However, the $1 Gold promotion is good as soon as you don't have a subscription. So, if your subscription ended the moment
you read this, you'd be able to get the $1 promotional offer for your first month of your renewed subscription.

My feeling is that it shouldn't be shown on my xbox if I can't get it. Even just seeing it and not being able to get it without even reading the terms of service that could be false advertisement.

 

On the ad itself it should show only for new customers not existing ones.

I do apologize for the inconvenience, Those ads are auto-generated and will show up to most users according to their regions. These promotions are usually for those players that are not sure if they want to purchase Xbox live Gold for whatever their reasons
are. This way they don't have to put down too much on the subscription and test it out after which they can choose to renew the subscription or of course cancel it.
