Hi, I have bought a brand new xbox live and did not receive a free xbox live trial. What should I do?

I'm not sure where you heard that you get a free trial of Xbox Live when you purchase a new Xbox Live code, but that is untrue. Regardless, the free trials are not full subscriptions and you can't use them if you have had Gold on your account in the past.

I believe you get one free month of Xbox Live Gold when you sign up for a Xbox Live profile the first time on a Xbox console.

 

There should be a 14 day trial code in the console box. Otherwise, you would want to keep an eye on your dashboard for any offers. There are no longer free trials for creating new accounts.

Gold trials can be used on any account that does not currently have a gold subscription regardless of whether or not you have had one before.
