Xbox live will not let me download game I own digitally

I bought a game about a year ago and removed it after a few months cause I had no one to play it with. A few new people I met today wanted to know if I'd want to play it again and I said yes. Well I went to go reinstall the game, it asked me to put it on my external hard drive, I accepted, and "installation stopped" keeps popping up. I tried resetting my xbox. Ive tried deleting a few games just in case it was bugging out and not sure if I had enough room (I have about 500Gb free) and it still has the same thing happening. Its not the only game that has done this. I had another game about a year ago that did the same thing. Help??

PS. My friend whom I GameShare with was able to download it but I cant??????

hi I own the disk i do not own the digital copy of the game and I have downloaded the game packs and it still dose not let me play.

So now it will let me play the games I own digitally but not the ones I hot downloaded from gamepass lol xbox Is down big time sheesh

I get exactly the same. I try to connect to Xbox Live will not let me. I try to download my own again and not let me.

The location of your games doesn't matter, as they're not shared from your Xbox.

When you buy a game digitally from Xbox Live, it's added to a list on your account. When you share with another console, it simply checks that list and lets the other person download the same games.

If you don't own any digital games, you can't share anything - it's not possible to share games that you own on a disc (other than giving your friend the disc)
