    I have been trying to download Destiny for the past week and it locks up in what appears to be the internet connection. Any help will be great.

    Modem brand & model number: Actiontec C1000A

    Router brand & model number: Netgear WNDR3800 (this is in another room but hardwired to the actiontec)

    How many consoles do you have connected to this router? 2 PS3 and XBOX

    Wired or wireless (for each console): All Wired

    Things you have tried:

    I can log into xbox live but when I try to test the XBOX live connection it fails to connect to internet. The PS3 connects OK.

    I have reset the default settings many times.

    added MAC address for the XBOX to the Actiontec C1000A

    turned Port forwarding on for 3074

    I get the same results when trying to connect to either the Actiontec or Netgear

    Is UPnP Enabled? YES

    Do you have a NAT error? NO

    Any Error Codes you encounter: no error codes just get a red X when trying to connect to internet

    Who is your ISP(Internet Service Provider)? Centry Link

    After you run "Test Xbox LIVE connection" press “Y” for "More Info”.

    Netflix and Amazon Prime, one account 2 xbox. Help

    Just logged out of my live and retried Netflix says I need to log into Xbox live ? Do you all have home option selected on one Xbox or something

    I have a password logging on my live account but that should not matter

    And yes Netflix asks to sign into live when I try to use it. I have tried to remove Netflix signed out of live and tried to reinstall it but again asks to sing into live

    Can you please let us know where it fails when you run the test? When you try to connect to Xbox live using the Xbox live test where does it fail, network/internet or Xbox live itself

    I believe there are still some issues for some people with running Connection Tests on the Xbox 360, so let's not put too much weight on that since you're still able to connect to Live.

    Are you receiving any messages or error codes when the download for Destiny locks up? Have you had this problem downloading any other games? Have you had any other connection problems with Xbox Live?

    If you're not receiving any specific messages, let's try the following steps:

    Step 1: Cancel all downloads

    1. Press the Guide button on your controller.
    2. Go to Games & Apps.
    3. Select Active Downloads.
    4. Select Cancel All.
    Step 2: Delete partial downloads

    1. On your console, go to settings, then select System.
    2. Select Storage, and then select your storage device.
    3. Select the content type that you’re trying to download.
    4. Find the item that you are trying to download (may appear with a yellow warning icon).
    5. If the item is listed, select the item, and then select Delete.
    Step 3: Download the content again

    Try downloading the content again from your download history. Here’s how:

    1. On your console, sign in to Xbox Live.
    2. Go to settings, and then select Account.
    3. Select Download History.
    4. Browse your download history. Select the item, and then follow the on-screen instructions to download the item again.
    If the download fails, try the next solution.

    Solution 2: Clear your Xbox Live cache and system cache
    Sometimes, download problems can be fixed by deleting the Xbox Live cache and clearing the console’s system cache. Here's how:

    1. On your console, go to settings, and then select System.
    2. Select Storage, and then select your storage device.
    3. Select System Items.
    4. Select Marketplace System Data.
    5. Select Delete.
    6. Clear your Xbox 360 system cache.
    7. Restart your console.
    8. Go back to your Download History and try downloading the item again.

    I did not realize there was currently an issue with performing connection tests. The issue is only on Destiny since that is all I have been trying to download. Most of the attempts have just locked up the xbox so I have to cycle power to it.

    I had tried all of the suggestions you recommended.

    I was finally able to get it to download after connecting it to my action tec router while in the same room. For some reason it did not like being far away from the router to get Destiny to download. Playing the game works fine from the other room as long
    as the xbox is not connected to the Netgear router. I get the Caterpillar error so I have been looking at the bungie site. Maybe I need to set up port forwarding on the netgear also so the xbox will maintain a good connection to the destiny servers. I have
    spent way too much time get this game to work and not enough time playing.

    Glad you were able to successfully download the game! XBOX Live will log in but Xbox Live Test Fails :D

    It sounds like you may still be experiencing a few errors with the game, correct? What parts of the game are you trying to play? Any online play would require an Xbox Live Gold subscription I'm afraid, and it doesn't look like your account is a Gold subscriber
    (at least not the one posting here).

  7. I was seeing problems just playing the game. Once connected to the modem/router everything works great. I need to set up port forwarding on the second router so I can connect the xbox to it and it will work. I think this will fix it or setting it up as
    a bridge may also give me the same result.

    In the end I think the issue was really not having my routers set up correctly since my previous usage was not seeing any issues not having port forwarding set up.

    Thanks for your help. I was getting hung up on the connection tests failing which did not reflect what was really going on.

    WELL, that would make sense....except....when you are testing your connection you do it without being logged into your profile. test after test....fails to connect to xbox live.....
