Xbox Live Upload speed very slow

Hiya,

I've seen this issue posted about before, but never resolved, so I have to ask again.

I have a normally 100/40 HFC connection, that returns speeds on xbox live of about 90/15.

Since Tuesday night June 25, my Xbox Live upload speed has been throttled by Xbox to 0.9mbps. This is a specific Xbox Live as a Gaming service issue, as I've troubleshooted everything else in my house, across wired and wireless connections
and multiple devices both Xbox 1X, Xbox One, PC, Smart TV, phone, spoken to my ISP, and we've come to the conclusion that the issue is strictly the
upload speed provided by the gaming service of Xbox Live.

Both my Xbox 1X and my Xbox One show the same poor upload speed when running a Network Details check in Settings, but if we access an online speed test site through Microsoft Edge
on each Xbox, regular network speeds of 90/15 are measured. This regular speed is also achieved when testing through my PC, my phone on wifi, and my smart TV using the web browser feature. Only through the Xbox Network Settings internal speed test
is a speed of <1mbps existing, and it does actually exist as many games I attempt to play are unplayable, since I am unable to update the servers to my actions/positions in-game and am routinely kicked. These speed tests also register 0% packet loss.

Good luck solving this. Literally everything else in my house (including the Edge browser within the xbox itself, which clearly mustn't use the Xbox Live gaming service connection to function) is functioning normally, including my router and ISP.

You might also check for a firmware update for your router. Xbox tends to update their ports early. Normally I get a firmware update about the time mine does similar things.

That is very odd, What type of ethernet cable are you using are sure it's not an outdated cat 4 cable?. Could you try getting a cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable to double check also length of the ethernet can cause problems but that only under extreme lengths
and such.

Cat. 6 cable, 1mt long, and replaced over the weekend with a new one because I had the same thought (but of course no improvements).

Router is updated with latest firmware.

But again, please consider that until one week ago everything was working just perfectly, and from my side I did not introduced any change (neither my ISP, as per what they told me, infact all other services are running smoothly as before).

Hi,

It may seem obvious but have you tried to do a full power cycle of your Xbox and router. Sometimes signals get mixed up and you may encounter slow speeds. Usually the problem lies in the internet service however, there are times the system just messes up
and needs a moment to reset. Technology isn’t perfect... yet. Let me know if that helped.
