Xbox live update and 4GB issue

For 3 weeks I've been trying to apply the xbox live update. I get error code 416B-4174-1380-267F-C000-0185. I've tried everything the first post suggests and nothing worked. Also at some point the spot that used to say 4GB in storage now says unformatted.
I try to format it and nothing happens. I have 234GB of free space on my 250Gb hard drive so space is not the issue. I tested my internet connection and it says cannot connect to xbox live until I install the update. Any help would be appreciated.

ok, so i followed all the steps to recovering updates for my xbox 360 4gb kinect, and i am still having issues with getting proper updates. I have a great network connection. I even have a good ethernet/internet connection. My issue is that although my Xbox
live is active and up to date, i am still having connection issues to Xbox live. Which means, if i can not connect to Xbox live i can not get my updates. Now i know this has something to do with Microsoft's update,yet can someone please hurry up and configure
a coding to get us 4gb kinect users back on point. I do not wish to upgrade right now.

God damn, that's a large patch, I think MS should offer the option to play the game without the newest update, but maybe that is not possible for an online game. Though I live in Australia, which is famous for the shit internet. I really hate the updates for this gen though, it is rare to find a game that doesn't have atleast a 4GB update after launch.

 

Hi, sadly if you've tried formatting the internal memory unit and it hasn't worked you'll need to get the xbox repaired. The system update always tries to install to the primary storage device which in your case is the 4GB memory unit.

I'm dealing with the same problem. Did you send it in
