Xbox live - turning off recurring billing

I am having problems turning off recurring billing on my xbox live subscription.

everytime i try to turn it off it comes up with the following message:-

‘we ran into an error while disabling recurring billing’

i have been trying to turn off recurring billing for months now and have tried to get in touch but cant get past the virtual assistant. I am getting really frustrated with this.

i would really appreciate any help in resolving this issue.

When applying any type of code for Xbox Live or any Xbox Gift Cards, the option of turning of the recurring billing should allow you to enter the token/code without supplying payment information.

Are you saying you were charged twice for the same month?

You might have recurring billing turned on, this is the default setting. To change this go to your Microsoft account online, at the top there is a tab for Services & Subscriptions. Click that tab then look in the list for Xbox Live, this is the current status
of your account. Look under the Xbox Live and you should see in blue lettering a Recurring Billing turned or off. You click on change then turn off Recurring Billing. If you were charged twice then you will have two months of Xbox Live, you wouldn't be charged
twice for one month. If you wish to get further help go to https://support.microsoft.com/contactus and you can ask for a refund.

to try and manipulate it through that.

If that doesn't help then it might be best for you to contact
Customer Support directly so that we can make sure that your subscriptions ends up the way that you want it to.

Thank your for your reply. I have already tried both your suggestions and i keep getting the error when turning off recurring billing. I also get through to the virtual assistant where it gives me the option to turn off recurring billing and still comes
up with the error. I cant get past the virtual assistant to speak to customer service.

Let's try to skip the virtual assistant and get you to a phone representative. When you get to the support portal select "Billing" for step 1. When it asks to go through the virtual assistant, select "No Thanks". On step 2 select "Turn
off auto renewal for your Xbox subscription". It should then give you some self-service options that you can skip and eventually you will be asked to request a callback and it will ask you for the desired number to call and the region.

Hello, when you get to the virtual agent, just click where it says "No thanks..." to skip the virtual agent.

 

Hi, i have tried everything you mentioned to do. But still no luck.

I get to step 3 ‘cancel auto renewal’ click on cancel and it takes me back to the main subscriptions page which keeps giving me an error when i try to cancel recurring payments.

On Step 1 select "My account"

On Step 2 select "Error messages and codes"

Skip step 3 and go to step 4 to select "request a call from support"

Thank you for your help, I have managed to get through to microsoft chat several times. Microsoft have tried to cancel my recurring subscription but they can’t either due to the same error I was getting. Apparently this has been escalated to another department
and was told someone would contact me. This has been ongoing since October 19th and I am no further forward.
