Xbox Live trial code help

My friend gave me a code to redeem a free trial for Xbox Live Gold, however the code has 30 digits and when prompted on my Xbox One, I can only enter 25 digits. Is there a way to enter 30 digits or is my code not redeemable?

Free Month Promo Codes

I've never seen a "Free Month Promo Code" could someone explain to me? Is it like a beta version of the game or what? They seem interesting and I might buy one in the near future.Click to expand...

Some games come with a free trial of Xbox Live for a certain amount of time, mostly just a 48 hour trial. When you first buy the game new, within the box there's a sheet of paper with a code for Xbox Live. I have gotten two codes when I bought Halo 4 and Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. I've never seen a one month code.

Xbox codes are only 25 digits. If it's 30, it's not a correct code.

Because a 'xbox games pass ultimate 14 days trial code' equals a 'xbox game pass 14 days trial code + xbox live gold 14 days trial code', so for new Microsoft/Xbox accounts, a 'xbox game pass ultimate 14 days trial codes' could be used/sold as 'xbox game
pass 14 days trial code' or 'xbox gold live 14 days trial code' , right?

Please help to clarify.

The Xbox Live Trial codes are available when you purchase games or console bundles. The prepaid code for the free trial can be a 2, 3 or 14 day Xbox Live Gold trial membership. To know more about Xbox Live Free Trial
membership, you may go to How to get an Xbox Live Gold trial subscription.

The xbox live Gold prepaid code will overwrite the trial as you can't stack on top of the trials.

If you upgrade to Xbox Live Gold during your non-renewing trial period, your Xbox Live Gold membership won't start until the end of your free trial. You won't be eligible to download a currently offered free game until your trial period ends and your paid

Xbox Live Trial page for more detailed information regarding trial codes specifically at the bottom of the page. In the future, I would definitely suggest purchasing an Xbox Live Gold membership.
