Xbox Live - taken monthly and year payments

Hi - In the last couple of months I've taken up Xbox Live again. I was getting charged £5.99 a month (12th June last payment) so I paid the yearly fee of £39.99 (3rd July). I thought this would cover me for the year and stop the monthly payments automatically.
However on the 12th July I've been charged another £5.99.

How do I stop the monthly payments so I pay once a year?

How do I recover some of the money I have in theory overpaid?

I've looked for answers or support on line with Microsoft but struggled to find anything...thanks

Double invoicing

In April this year I changed from monthly to annual payment. I just realized you carried on charging me monthly on top of the annual payment. Could you stop the monthly payments and refund the money you took since April. Regards, Yeray

Change Xbox Live

hi, i want to change my xb live Gold from 6,99€ monthly to an onetime payment for a hole year.

It‘s cheaper and more clearly for me.

You can pay monthly, Every 3 months or one payment a year. Which is cheaper overall.

I'm keeping an eye on my Paypal account, as the payment I made to them for a single lot of MS points is showing on my Paypal transactions as a direct debit to be taken monthly...

Hello, I've read your question and I believe I understand your situation. Xbox Ambassadors are here to help.

There have been a few other people ask this question this year, in regards to Xbox live requiring payment. Do know that you can play any Xbox game without Xbox live. In order to play online multiplayer and have access to other online features is what Xbox
live is for. You asked if you have to pay yearly. There is an option for a 1-year payment, which in regards to monthly is the cheapest. There are also monthly and 90-day memberships. If online multiplayer is not for you then you will not need the service.
although it might I suggest taking a look at the Xbox game pass ultimate subscription. It is hands-down flat-out the best deal in gaming, and for me it pay for itself the first month and has done so every month thereafter for the last 8 months. Hope this helps!
