Xbox Live Support on the 360

How much longer will Xbox Live be supported on the original 360? I'm referring not only to online multiplayer but also to the ability to download games and DLC as well as cloud saves and game updates. It would be great if these would be supported forever;
imagine spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on digital games, having to get a new console or hard drive, and not having access to those games anymore. It would of course also be great if online multiplayer would continue to be supported like with PC
games; but it seems that companies like Ubisoft if I remember correctly have already cut online features long ago. (Hooray for split-screen, at least for games that have it.)

Does XBOX live still work for the Xbox 360?

Xbox live stills works for Xbox 360 as it always did. Support hasn't been altered, yet.

 

Predictions/Wishlists for Xbox event on 21st

Backwards Compatibility with some Xbox 360 Games.Who doesnt want to replay there favourite Xbox 360 game with unscaled graphics if possible.

Superior Xbox Live Service.

Faster wireless network adapter so our downloads will be much faster.

Improved repair service, warranty etc remember the last fiasco at the Xbox 360 launch Red Ring Of Death, Faulty DVD Drives,scratched games etc make the next gen Xbox highly reliable.

Vastly improved Internet Browser im sure everyone wont question me on this one

Support USB hard drives/data storage devices with more available space only this time let people use the full amount.

Support the previous Xbox Live Vision Camera and Kinect for the next gen console this will win over the Vision Camera and Kinect fans to next gen.

Keyboard and Mouse Support will attract the pc gamers to next gen Xbox.

Increase the content on Xbox Live significantly offering a bigger number of demos, arcade games.movies dlc aka game addons make Xbox Live the place everyone wants to be.

i know this is doubtful but give everyone attending the Xbox Reveal conference in person an Xbox 720 for attending.

 

There is no information given about how long live and support will remain active.

 

We are still looking at quite a few years of support. There are still games being made for the 360 so there's no current plans to scrap the console.

 

Will we at some point no longer be able to download purchased games and other content?
