XBOX Live subscription not enabled

Hi, I redeemed a code for a prepaid 1 year XBOX live subscription and it worked fine, but as of last night it is asking me to subscribe again. I tried to redeem again my code and it says it has already been redeemed. Weird thing is that when I go to my subscriptions
on my XBOX One it says I have an active XBOX Live Gold that expires on 08/12/2018 Paid with : Prepaid Card.

Do you know how can I enable it again on my console and what happened?

XBOX Music Pass Questions

Hi Kaboxing! It is possible that if you signed up for it using the console that it will renew. If you do not want to have auto-renewal enabled, you can cancel it using these steps: Cancel
your Xbox LIVE Gold (paid) membership or Xbox Music Pass.

how to activate xbox live (not gold one)

Hello,

I know that xbox live is free and I thought that a simple microsoft account was able to have xbox live enabled.

I connected and logged in my console with my account, then I launched a game ('fortnite' in this case).

I initially asked me if i want to buy a gold subscription or not, I asked "no" and it proceeded until the game launch button, but then it says me that my account is not enabled to access xbox live (any mention to gold subscription...).

Do you know what I have to do?

Thanks for your reply: Tried on PC but only after redeeming on Xbox forst when it looked like it worked. It says it has already been redeemed which is what I'd expect I think as forst time on Xbox looked like it had worked (until I tried to use it).
