XBox live subscription for my kids

I subscribed to xbox live from my PC. The subscription was for my kids. Unfortunately, it only works in my profile. Xbox probably has the most confusing user interface I have seen

Cant join local player when connected to Xbox LIVE? Ugh!

So, my kids got xbox live in November and we STILL cant figure out how to connect a second LOCAL controller (my other kid) when my XBOX LIVE profile is playing in someone else's hosted world.

Is it impossible? Is there anyway I can get it to happen without springing for a second XBOX LIVE subscription?

XBOX live question, which one should I purchase?

I just purchased XBOX one for my kids for Christmas. They've asked for XBOX live which I understand is a subscription based product.

When looking at Target's website, I am confused because it appears you can purchase more than one type of "live" subscription for the XBOX one.

How would I determine which "live" product to purchase?

Please help. Thanks.

Set your profile as Home Console on your xbox console and when the kids sign in on the Xbox then they can play as if they have gold. You can only set your profile as the home console on one xbox though

A way to share only 1 Xbox live gold subscription is creating a family group and add the kids there
https://account.microsoft.com/family/home

In that way you can cancel one subscription and the kids can use the Xbox live gold subscription on their accounts

Summary

Set Kid A Xbox as Home and sign in as me. Then sign Kid A in.

Get Kid B his own Gold subscription

Sign in as me on my console, then Kid A can share my subscription even though I've signed out of Kid A's console.

Georges that is very helpful. If I terminate my current subscription and then redeem it with a live gold year subscription - can I keep my family settings and the kids achievements in their games?
