Xbox live subscription fee

got a message on xbox live saying the subscription fee is changing from £39.99 to £49.99 but the way its worded its saying i will be charged a further £49.99 this year even though ive just recently renewed my gold, does this essentially mean microsoft
is gonna try charge me £90 for this years xbox live?

Xbox Live Gold subscription fees are mostly used for server maintenance.

It wont charge you double so don’t stress, it will only renew when your subscription runs out

your only pay once your current subscription runs out and you need to renew it

I actually do the same thing and use the Microsoft reward points to get my Xbox Live Gold, It gives me more money to spend on games

You don't have to pay it, I use my Microsoft reward points and redeem them for Xbox Live. Not paid anything since January last year and have Xbox Live subscription till May 2020.

I do think that even at £49.99 it is great value, you get 4 games a month offered for free and if you break it down to cost per day, it is only £0.14p per day, that's £0.006p per hour.
