Xbox Live status "dodgy at best"

Well it looks like Xbox Live is having it's "time of the month", kind of annoying at the moment . Is it me or is Xbox Live not quite as rock solid as it used to be back in the day?

Service alert

My xbox live status page says "current status service alert." What does that mean?

 

Tell me about it......I've done a dozen hard reboots in the last 3 days because of the Forza/Cloud/DLC issue.

 

It's definitely been up and down lately.

Mind you, as someone posted a while back, in the first 6 months - 1 year of the Xbox 360 there were quite a few issues but it settled with time so hopefully it's just new tech with teething issues that will settle down with time.

Fingers crossed.

 

It's been glitchy for a while now. I'd sign onto my XBOX ONE perfectly fine, but when I go to my 360 it says it can't connect to the Internet. (I know they're different servers). The thing is I can try to connect again and it will say the same thing. However
when I go to "Test Connection".. before the test starts or even a few seconds into it, it will sign me onto XBOX Live.

 

The Xbox Live service on the Xbox One is a completely separate entity than Xbox Live on the Xbox 360. That means it's green and still going through the initial rounds of bug-fixing, maintenance, etc. whereas the Xbox Live service on the 360 is a seasoned
veteran with experience that knows what to expect. In time, they will have parity.

 

If the 360 Live service is the seasoned veteran it's time to retire and find a younger, faster replacement. I spend more time looking at that spinning white circle than anything else on the 360.

 

I had troubles with XB1 smart glass today I don't know if it has to do with xbl or what. It's working fine now though.

 

I'm not so certain they are seperate entitys, every time there has been a problem with Xbox live it's effected both Xbox One and Xbox 360, so they must have some parts sharing the same servers etc.

 

I'm so unimpressed with the entire console, I want my money back. $400 and I can barely play anything without the games crashing, being unable to have stability with a party... Just got two xbox ones at the beginning of the month to play Destiny. Wish I'd
just stayed with the 360!
