    What is a Xbox Live Silver account? I cannot find a list of the difference between GOLD and SILVER. I know this might be a stupid question to many users, but I just dunno.

    Xbox Live Confusion?

    Xbox Live is free.

    You can make a Gold account, or a Silver account.

    The Gold account gives you access to access to play online, along with free monthly games and weekly deals. This has a fee.

    The Silver account gives you access to Xbox Live and apps, but you just can't play online or get the free games. This is free.

    So silver is free and come whith it? And you do not have to have a payed xbox live gold? Thank.

    Xbox Live Silver

    Xbox live GOLD account you can play Xbox Live with your friends and people around the world. You get other benefits but that is the biggie.

    Will I still be able to redownload my previous purchases? Like from my 360 cloud?

    Yes, you can re-download your items you purchased onto your Xbox 360 using the same account if you switch to Gold. This can be found on the 360 by going to Settings, My account, Purchase History.

    However, items you buy on the Xbox 360 will not Transfer to the Xbox One unless stated by the Developer.

    You are showing as a silver member, you cannot play on Xbox Live as a silver member.

    if you did it correctly you should have gotten the free 30 day gold trial if not then your silver

    - Sign up for Xbox Live Silver.

    - Choose Xbox Live Silver Membership for $0.00 even if you like to have Xbox Live Gold.

    - It will ask you if you are sure you want to continue with only the Silver Membership.

    - Choose the "Keep Silver" option to continue with the set-up.

    - Then it will inform you that you are now eligible for a free 30 day Xbox Live Gold Membership.

    - Enjoy the free trial and make sure to keep the upgraded Gamertag account.

    Think of it as a trial version. Everything that is done via Xbox Live costs Microsoft to run those services. Since we're paying for a Gold Account, you're putting your portion of the money in for Microsoft that allows you to have all these nifty features.
    Some people only make Silver accounts for Zune, Netflix etc, but they pay themselves when they use the app.

    If you can't turn off auto-renewal via the web, you'll need to contact support so they can turn it off for you. 1-800-4my-xbox if you're in the US/Canada or
    support.xbox.com/contact-us

    Once auto-renewal is turned off, you would revert to silver once your subscription ends. Or you can have support cancel your subscription too.

    Although it sounds like they are attempting to renew your account, but can't because of some issue on your account (which you would have to contact them to sort it out). If that is the case, then you may have a balance you now owe that would need to be paid
    off before you can go gold or have them cancel.
