"Xbox Live Signup Unavailable" error

I received a wireless adapter for my 360 for Christmas and was ecstatic. I couldn't wait to watch anime on my console, and Youtube, and everything! So I plugged it in, started setting it up, and right as I was about to create an Xbox Live account...an error
message popped up stating signup wasn't available.

So I did some troubleshooting on the website, and I discovered I should be using a better adapter. So I bought the sleek black one with two antennae.

Plugged it in, started it up...and same thing happened. I've been noticing on the forums and such that others are having the same issue. Is there anything I can do? I'd really like to start an Xbox Live account and start using my console the way I want!

Should I call the 1800 number or something?

A number appears on the popup, the number "80154002", though I'm not sure what that means. Can anyone help me out, please?

im getting an error meesage "xbox live signup is currently unavailable..please try again later" i've been trying for 4 hours now,im swapping hard drives and there is nothing on this new one,any idea's? x

 

Hi There!

Did you perform a network test & everything checked out fine? You can do this by pressing the Center "Xbox" button on your controller and then scrolling to the right to "Settings > System Settings" and then selecting Network & Performing a test.

If everything checks out there, and all the checks are green, I would try again. It could have been from the service interruptions over the past several days.

If after testing, everything is good and it still does not work, Power down the console, and unplug the system for 30 seconds. When you power it back on, try again.

If after performing the power reset, the system still doesn't allow you to do so, try resetting your network if possible. Power down your modem/router for 30 seconds while unplugged, then restart them. Retest your network connection on your console and try
again.

IF ALL ELSE FAILS, you can post back here and I'll have a few more steps you could try, or you could contact the Support Line or Chat on the site.

Hello! VaguerMedusa564. Are you sure it's not your Router/Modem/Gateway causing these issues? They are known to filter out information very much necessary for the Xbox to function correctly!. There is a list of routers/modems/gateways that do this on the
Support forums.

Try checking here for your specific model and learn how to configure it to your console,
