    Xbox live shouldn't need windows 10


    We have an xbox one and used to have an xbox 360 so we have used them for a while.

    We do not have windows on any of our family computers.

    We pay for xbox live.

    I like to upload screen shots from the xbox to xbox live and download them on my computer.

    Now xbox live requires windows 10 for some kind of "app" instead of just using a web page.

    I have no intention of playing games on a computer. That is why we bought an xbox.

    I can still use xbox live on an android phone. The ap does not seem to be available on our kindle fire tablets.

    I should not have to have windows on my computer to use xbox live that I pay for for my xbox.

    SOLVED:

    Solution is to open up all Windows 10, not Xbox one, or Xbox360 settings.

    Clearly, Android and IOS realms settings are being governed by Windows rather than XBOX.

    There needs to be a note in the FAQ about this -- it shouldn't have been this hard.

    You shouldn't need to click the connect button on the controller, just plugging it in via USB should be enough to recognize it by the computer and be able to update through the Accessories app.

    First you need to download the PC Xbox App to your Windows 10 PC. You can get the download

    here

    Next you need to sign on the App with the same account you use on your console. Plus, if you haven't done so already, you need to make sure you are logged in with the same account on the Windows Store.

    The Xbox App doesn't actually do any downloading, everything downloads via the Windows Store for Windows 10, but you need the Xbox App to initiate the download, and this is why your account needs to be on both. If you already sign in on Windows 10 with the
    same account, you shouldn't need to change anything on the Windows Store.

    Thanks for the reply! Unfortunately, you will need to click the install to download any digital content for PC.

    If you have a Windows 10 device, you can now use the Xbox app to connect to the Xbox Live service.
