Xbox Live Services Reliability Issues

Is anyone else starting to get royally annoyed at the amount of time various aspects of the Xbox Live service are unavailable?

Previously, before the Xbox One came out, I think Live would go down every now and then but on the whole it was fairly reliable. But now there seems to be something broken every 5 minutes. I log on one day and it can't show friends because of an issue. The
next day the store is down. Then the achievements system is down so you can't unlock anything (and it seems you're lucky if they pop once the system is back up again!).

It seems to me that for a console that MS were originally pushing to be always online this is not an acceptable level of service. But when people said they didn't want to need to always be online certain people at MS said that people are always online blah
blah blah and that it isn't an issue. Well it certainly seems to be an issue! And this is the level of service we are getting when paying £40 a year! I did have a check but can't find any SLA regarding Xbox Live, which is quite incredible really. This means
that they can take our money and not guarantee any level of service at all!

The issues of various parts of Live going down have already ruined the achievements for Peggle 2 for me (the game show me as having completed over 150 objectives but the 150 objective achievement won't pop and on smartglass it only shows my game progress
as having completed 105 objectives) and now last night I unlocked the last few campaign achievements on Far Cry 4 but as the achievements system was down these didn't pop and I have no idea or faith that they will later!

Considering the cost...

The Xbox Live service offers a lot more features and it is generally more reliable and the customer service is more active (although that doesn't mean that it's more helpful ) . Also on Live you quite often gives discounts for titles that you can buy in the store and overall the servers seem to be more reliable go down a lot less frequently than PSN.

Perhaps you missed this bit (or more likely, chose to ignore it)...

That's why I have Gold, it's a premium service, that works well & is reliable (can you same the same about PSN?).

Let me answer that last question for you-no you can't and no one will ever be able to say PSN has been as robust, secure and reliable as XBOX Live.

 

Totally fed up... on the verge of switching to PlayStation. This is ridiculous. For the 4-5th time since I got xbox one for Christmas I can play a game. It's been 2 days now.
