Xbox Live service discontinued for Xbox 360 by 2016?

I don't believe you have anything to worry about. As I have posted in here several times. There is to many positives to discontinue support for the Xbox 360 Live services in the near future. There quarterly reports were fantastic despite taking significant
losses on the Xbox One console itself.

The Xbox 360 Live servers, amd services will be around for a while

Regardless I have their numbers, and why they will continue to be supported.

 

I think they are stopping it so we will be forced to buy an xbox one , I'm getting one in October anyway

 

80% of my friends list is still on 360 and I'm sure that's most of people's friend's list so it's not quite time yet

 

@XBoX Ambassador, I think people worry because they are seeing many new games (including online games/DLC) coming out that are only available for Xbox One. For instance The Elder Scrolls online being one of the latest. It's EXTREMELY annoying when we (Xbox360
users) have spent so much money and fervently supported Microsoft over the years, for Microsoft to then start releasing games only for Xbox One. The excuse that developers are only releasing games for the next gen consoles doesn't wash either. If Microsoft
say jump, developers say how high, as there is so much profit to be made.

I really don't understand why 360 gamers are starting to be ignored, if as you say, the figures show 360 is still a big money maker. I just wish for once we'd stop being taken for a ride. Many gamers work hard for the money they spend on games etc, do Microsoft
actually realise this?!! I would have loved to play Elder Scrolls online (and several other games too), unfortunately I can't afford to just go out and buy an Xbox One.

 

Has there been any official word on when service will stop? If its 2016, when in 2016 will it be? The beginning of the year, middle or end?

 

ManicRaiders there is no set date so my thoughts are January 1st which is a smart business move in my opinion due to Christmas a few day's before so the 1 sales will go up.

 

ManicRaider, there has been no official word at all. There is no reason to think the servers will shut down at all, anytime in 2016. All the talk about them shutting down has simply been people saying that based on nothing but what they thought up in their
own heads.

 

Nobody knows when support for the Xbox 360 will end. It is a question Microsoft can only answer.
