    Xbox Live Security proof fail


    I honestly do not know where to start. I started off my night wanting to update my security information so my account would be a bit safer. I wanted to update my security proof to my new current cell phone number so microsoft can send me codes for proof..
    I do this update and now i must wait 30 days for the update to take place? this makes no sense.. the rude lady on xbox support chat insisted everything i was doing was wrong... Why can't they simply verify its me through email then change the phone number
    proof over? I feel as if i am being punished and losing a month of xbox live service for wanting to make my account more secure.. what gives? I really dont mean to hate or be rude but this system is absolutely not needed and quite unfair to the user.

    if you make your first Setup, you directly add proofs and verify them.

    if you currently have security proofs that you have Access to already verified to your account, you can skip this 30day lockout.

    if your account only has security proofs you have no Access to, you have to wait for this 30day to pass, because else People could easily steal other profiles.

    also this 30day lockout does not prevent gameplay on xbox 360, it prevents changing Information or making purchases on xbox.com.

    I do have access to one of my security proofs. I have 1 or 2 emails setup as well but it wants to proof my old cell phone number first and i decided to change that and now its locking me out without even letting me use my other proofs... the system is annoying
    and bothersome.. If i pay for xbox live and want to update my security info to better improve my account.. i shouldn't be punished and lose a month of xbox live... I realize i can still do most of what i need to on my xbox but i cannot access my previous transactions
    to request refunds or any other situation that actually matters.

    choose "Change Password and more"

    you will be asked to a) verify Access OR b) according to your Posts you will be asked "did you request a Change"

    a) verify your Access with your currently existing security Information then validate proofs shown or remove if you dont have Access to them individually

    b) yes you did request a Change - Chose "i regained Access to my proofs" and Setup everything correctly

    that's the problem i do have access to my email proofs but it doesnt ask for them.. it only request my old cell phone number as a proof and i can't get around that to use my other proofs

    if it doesnt ask for them you didnt add them. if you could use not added contact Information you would easily steal other profiles.

    still this 30d lockout is not supposed to block playing on xbox.

    When i sign it on my xbox it also ask me if i found my proofs and to verify i am also locked from the console.. all of this happened simply from trying to update my security... this system is a bit unusual and extremely not needed... i can see possibly having
    a lockout for a period of time... but 30 days is simply not acceptable and my xbox live experience that i pay for is being corrupted for no legitimate reason
