my box live rewards are not showing me as a vip which i was andthat i dont have xbox live gold which i have ive tried loggingin andd out but no change

I have Xbox Live Rewards too but I think the $15 Rewards credit is only good if you buy the physical copy through MicrosoftStore.com...?
