xbox live rewards vip registering

when i try to register for my vip status it keeps taking me to the go gold page, but i already am a gold member . What is up with that?

Just to let you know an Xbox Live Rewards Topics/Post should be posted in

Xbox Rewards Support section of Forums. When you have VIP it means you have been selected as a VIP and now have unlocked a VIP Exclusive and it's shown under VIP Rewards on the My Reward Page.

You're using pre-paid cards I'm assuming. You need to be an actual subscriber, as in credit card. If you head over to the Rewards forum they will usually mark you as a VIP after a few weeks of waiting.

As I said, there seems to be a bug (well known on the Rewards forum) in the system that tells a lot of pre-paid subscribers that they don't have gold and need to subscribe. The Rewards teams has to manually put you in at that point... which is what I said
above.

The Rewards program is a bonus for gold members (and silvers) to earn Microsoft Points for doing certain things on Xbox Live. All you need to do is sign into your account either on Xbox.com or the Rewards website and then register. It's very quick and easy
to register and doesn't require you to enter any details. It may take a few days for you to become an active Rewards member though.

As for becoming a Rewards VIP, it's random. It depends on what promotion is currently available and you'll be shown whether you've been selected to become a VIP on your Rewards Dashboard (which you can view on the Rewards website).
