Xbox Live Rewards / MyVIP Gems

I only have 700 Gems I was hoping to redeem for $15 Visa cards or even 15,000 reward credit to cash out before the change, which would only go back to game purchases.

At the end of the day it's the dollars they are concerned about. Pulling the rug on this program and converting your Gems to Microsoft points saves the company money from prizes they do not have to deliver on. While we have agreed to terms of service and
they can legally do this, this is still morally wrong on their part.

So there are 2 more-than likely reasons behind this lousy program transition:

A) The Program Manager is intentionally making this change without allowing individuals to cash in their GEMs and not resupplying the Vault

OR

B) the Program Manager is an incompetent employee.

(Not making any-name calling here, these are just the 2 more than-likely scenarios)

I just tried reaching out to Xbox Support on Twitter about using 500 of My Gems to purchase the 10,000 rewards credits only to find out that those were out of stock as well. Their only response was for me to come here to seek out an answer. I only want to
use those rewards credits to get 1 month of Game Pass and buy the Storm Island DLC for Forza Horizon 2. I come here and find that many others are having the same issues, which are not getting resolved. Very displeased with this!

Someone please tell me what the conversion rate is for VIP gems to USD cause 1 gem to 1 MS reward points is complete and utter **** and opting out before it's too late is looking like the better way to go. But we'll probably get shafted on that route as
well.

Update: Not only did I reach out to Support on Twitter, but I called twice (was hung up on the first time), and reached out via chat. Because I wanted to use those credits I EARNED and can't do anything with them, I wound up talking to a supervisor and they
had the nerve to tell me that if I want the stuff I want to use the credits for, couldn't I "just ask family or friends to buy it for you?" That is not the point! I want to use my EARNED rewards credits to purchase the stuff I want. Xbox Support is not helpful
in the least when it comes to the Vault stuff so DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME LIKE I DID! I spent at least half a day trying to talk to them and all they could do was either send me here or tell me to ask friends and family to purchase the stuff I want from the MS
store! I'm so pissed about this whole thing!

Right now, if you have 500 Gems, they could be traded in for 10,000 rewards credits... if the vault was restocked, that is.

Right now, if you have 500 Gems, they could be traded in for 10,000 rewards credits ($10 USD)... if the vault was restocked, that is.

Shows you how much garbage Microshaft is trying to pull with us right now.

Dozens of us are in here asking for a vault restock, but nothing is happening, and this team seems to have to intelligence of a piece of gum stuck to your shoe.

Phil isn't much better - he is too busy hyping E3 and is also too busy shining Snoop Dogg's shoes to give us the time of day.

This is why I am not renewing my Gold after it expires this time. Not worth it anymore. Used to be worth it when they actually cared, but not right now because Sony is handing them their @$$ when it comes to game output and console support.

But hey, here is another sale on overpriced DIGITAL movies and game content so you too can feel worthless when you actually need and want something done for your benefit. This is XBOX - community comes at $60 a year...

How can digital currency be "Out of Stock"? I didn't even look into this fiasco until this past week and am furious now. I've got 944 gems to use on basically nothing since everything is conveniently out of stock.

I only just now started paying attention to the MyVIP Gems and such. Since they're going away, I figured I'd use them, but pretty much everything I'm even remotely interested in is "out of stock." Digital coupons are out-of-stock. Seriously? How does that
even happen? Has Microsoft's random code generator broken down or something? If it were physical goods we were talking about, I could maybe understand. But a computer-generated code for internet-money? Yeah, that's just laziness, poor planning, poor execution,
or all of the above.

You’ll have until May 31, 2018 to earn MyVIP Gems and unlock any new MyVIP Perks. You’ll then have until June 15, 2018 to claim any open MyVIP Perks and to redeem any unused MyVIP Gems in your Xbox Live Rewards account for prizes from the MyVIP Vault. After
this date any unredeemed MyVIP Gems will be converted to Microsoft Rewards points and can be used to redeem rewards from the Microsoft Rewards catalog once your membership is transitioned. One MyVIP Gem will convert to one Microsoft Rewards point.

Your 556 Gems will be converted to Microsoft Rewards Points when you are fully transitioned into Microsoft Rewards.
