Xbox Live Reputation "Avoid Me" due to Widowmaker play in Overwatch

10+ year xbox live member and have never had rep problems until i started playing overwatch. The community is pure cancer and xbox live supports their behavior with false reports.

Bought a PS4 today and will be canceling my xbox live subscription due to the avoid me nonsense.

All I can tell you is that the only way to get your Xbox reputation out of "Avoid Me" is to
keep playing multiplayer matches without getting reported.

And how are you supposed to do that when there are players that report you for the silliest of reasons.

eg they report you for playing a character they personally dislike in Overwatch, despite the lead developer of Overwatch saying this is not a legitimate reason to report someone.

I've never had an issue with my Xbox Live reputation in all the years I've been on Xbox until I started playing Overwatch.

Since January this year I've had my account rep drop down to "Avoid Me" over a dozen times, all because of the toxicity of the Overwatch player base.

I've had messages from Overwatch players telling me that their entire group were reporting me for playing a character they thought was "useless" despite the fact that we won the match and I had most eliminations and objective time.

I've had other messages from people telling me that they're reporting me for "throwing" (again, despite the fact I had 3 gold medals for the match and that we won), and that they would be reporting me on all of their 6 (SIX!) accounts.

There is absolutely nothing the average player can do to avoid things like this happening, and your only advice is "keep playing multiplayer matches without getting reported"? I'm sorry, but that's not good enough.

The Xbox Live Reputation System is broken. It's being exploited by trolls who seek nothing more than to prevent others from being able to play a game they paid for on a service they're paying for.

Why is it Microsoft are doing nothing to fix the reputation system so that it cannot be so easily exploited?

Why is it Microsoft are doing nothing to punish those who actively exploit it?

Why is it that the only advice ever given is to "play other games"? This is not solving the problem. This is actively avoiding doing anything about it.

Why is it that there are no avenues for review for players whose reputation is being unfairly targeted?

Again... I haven't played Xbox for two days. Just turned the console on and checked my profile and I'm back in reputation avoid me. I stayed in "reputation needs work" for one day, played OW and now I'm back to the same avoid me thing...

What happened?

Case 1: There was a leaver in my team. I reported him and message him that I had just reported him for his behavior. He answered me back and said he was going to do the same thing. For what? (here we can easily see that anyone can report you just because
they want to, it doesn't even have to be true in order to affect your reputation)

Case 2: I played Widowmaker and as soon as the game ended, a guy wrote me a bunch of things with insults among them (this guy has the rep in needs work) I did not insult him back just warned him about this and he said he would report me too. Again... for
what? I reported him for insulting me and I can see this guy is still fine with his "needs work" rep playing online OW while my account is again in avoid me rep.

Is this fair? I was insulted, I suffered a team loss and both guys are just fine playing OW, even though their conduct isn't ok and I'm back again to this reputation avoid me thing which clearly is not working as it's meant and will not let me play normally
any online multiplayer game. Overwatch won't even find a single game if I'm in this rep.

I spent one hour with Microsoft support just to tell me it's not in their borderline to solve this issues. So basically I have to deal with this unfair stuff and play a week, two or maybe even more some games I really do not enjoy to improve my reputation
which was affected by some guys who REALLY deserve some penalties in their accounts.

The real question in all this is... for how long will I be in "needs work" reputation? I mean... maybe an hour, two? until some random guy I encounter in a Overwatch (the only game I play) decides to report me only because he wants to (I don't even have
to have direct interaction via messaging or voice or whatever with him) then what... back to "avoid me" and this situation can become an infinite loop.

Yep change your behaviour it's not rocket science

If you want to play the way you play why not join private parties that allow you to play the way you do

If you want to join matchmaking you do realize that you have to actually work with your team righr?

If not and you ignore them what did you expect?

You do realize those are legitimate reports right?

There's a huge flaw in the reputation system. My account reputation was set to "avoid me" when all I do is play overwatch with friends. I almost never use game chat or talk with randoms, I just play the game and have fun. I've heard this has happened to
a good bit of other people too.
