xbox live redeemed on parent account - how to transfer to child's

Thanks for coming to the forums. You will need to request a call from support with assistance in this matter.

When you go to Contact Us,follow these steps to request a call from support:

• Step 1 ----select Xbox One
  
• Step 2 ----select see other options then subscription changes
  
• Step 3-----select show contact options
  
  Step 4 ----select request call from support
  

Once they call explain the issue and they will be able to help you. Note that these options regularly change so just keep selecting something that gives request a call from support as a contact option.

Thanks I managed to get online chat going and they cancelled the one subscription and added a new one to my son's account - got there in the end!

Nothing can be transferred between accounts. You can try contacting support to see if they can cancel the subscription and give you a token for the remaining time to add to the correct account. http://support.xbox.com/contact-us

Or, if you're using the Xbox One, you can set the console as the Home console for the parent account and share the gold with the child account. https://support.xbox.com/en-US/games/game-setup/my-home-xbox

I might be misunderstanding you here. If you redeemed the code on the parent account, then the parent account has the live subscription, not the child account. You would have to redeem the code on your son's profile for him to get the Gold subscription.

If this is indeed what happened, I'd suggest contacting Xbox Billing Support. I'm not certain if they process membership transfer requests, but it's worth explaining your issue to them and seeing if they can help move the Gold subscription (or at least transfer
the remaining time) from the parent account to your Son's account.
