Xbox live purchase problems

I bought Xbox live for a year for £26 as it was due to a sale on Xbox but when I bought it it wouldn’t allow me to invite my friends to party’s or play online games.

Can someone please help me so I don’t waste my money

Keep in mind that takes a while for the membership to kick in. Try removing the account from the console, doing a hard restart, hold the power button for 10 seconds while the system is on, and then re-adding the account.

Also verify that your subscription is on and listed as active without issues at account.microsoft.com under Services and Subscriptions. If there are other issues, they will be listed there and notify you. Otherwise everything M3tal Daz3 has it covered.
Removing and re-adding your profile ( https://support.xbox.com/en-US/my-account/manage-gamertag-and-profile/add-remove-account-xbox-one ) can usually give it the right push to get you online and playing!

https://billing.microsoft.com to make sure all of your information is correct and up to date. If you can't fix it from there, call support and talk to billing and they will help you get it sorted.
