Xbox live profile issues

My Xbox has been messing up lately, It's deleted my profile, been really slow and really just been a pain. I want to get my profile back but it won't let me. I tried to download it, but it only goes around 1/8th of the way then just stops and says: "Profile
cannot be downloaded at the moment, please try again later." I have tried later, numerous times... I have tried over the course of a week and still nothing has happened. The other day it kind of downloaded, but disconnected half way through and basically I
am stuck with an empty profile, no achievements or anything. I can't delete it or move it and I can't download it again. This is really disappointing because I recently bought Xbox live and now they're deciding to waste my money and not let me connect? Please
help me, clearing cache's doesn't work, deleting and re-installing updates doesn't work, I can't delete the profile or download it again... At the moment, I don't have enough money to fix this as I only recently got a job, but I don't want to get it fixed
as I believe this is an issue on the other side of things, not my fault at all. Please, any help will be gratefully appreciated.

DLC question

Are all the profiles on the same xbox?

If they are, it wont matter which profile you DL it under. If they are on different machines, you will need to use your kids machine to DL.

DLC is linked to both the machine and the gamertag. DLC can be played on all profiles on the machine that it was downloaded on without any issues.

You can also move the hard drive to another machine and play it on that however, you can only do that if you connect to live with the profile that downlaoded the DLC. You cannot play DLC by this method without being connected to live.

 

Xbox Live Connection Error

I tried to log in to my Xbox Live profile, and it said I couldn't connect to Xbox Live. Under the message it said the numbers "80151909"

It's been like this for about a week. Anyone know how to resolve this issue?

P.S. I've tried connecting to one of my accounts that doesn't have Xbox Live Gold, and that didn't let me log in either.

 

Are you on a wireless connection? That sometimes can be a problem with recovering the profile. If you are, try using a wired connection to recover. Once you're done you can go back to wireless.

If you're already on wired, I'm not sure what to suggest here.

 

I'm sorry, I'm not sure what you mean by a wired connection? Please can you explain a bit more? I'm not too much of a tech wizard.

 

How is your Xbox connected to the internet? Do you have a cable running directly to the back of your Xbox from your router or modem? That would be a wired connection. If you connect via WiFi, that would be wireless. My suggestion is that if you are connected
via WiFi, attempt to download your profile using a wired connection instead. You'd need a CAT 5 cable (standard internet cable) to run from your modem or router directly to the Xbox. Give that a try. If your connection is already like that, you may need to
contact Support for additional assistance.

 

Thanks, I'll give that a go but it will be difficult, my router is a bit away from my TV and Xbox. Also, I tried again today to download the profile to no avail. Still says try again later...

 

I haven't had the time to do that yet, but my brother (the one who owns the account) has requested for a change of security questions and details, but he has to wait 30 days. I'm sorry, but I'm not waiting 30 days AND paying for Xbox live in the mean time
just to get my profile back. Is there any way I can do this quicker because it's kind of ridiculous that they expect us to wait for a month AND pay just to get my profile back. Any help is gratefully appreciated.

 

I would suggest that you download/recover your profile on a friend's console, then transfer it to a USB stick. Once you've done that, transfer it from your USB to your own console, and that should do it.
