Xbox Live Problems

Hey! My xbox live gold account expired last sunday and for the past 4 or 5 years I've been renewing it with a credit card but this time i couldn't because my credit card also expired, so on Monday, I went to buy an xbox live 3 month card at the store. I
arrived home and submitted the card code and it worked. The problem I need assistance with is that, my xbox or my account, for some reason, doesn't let me play online, or start group chats because it says I don't have a Gold account, even though I can access
the gold discounts and free games and also my account says my Gold subscription is active, does anyone know how to fix this problem? I've already tried everything (restarting the console, deleting my account and put it in back again etc)

I have only had a problem with xbox live once, and that was with the titanfall launch problems. Other then that live works perfect.
