Xbox Live Problems Recently

As for the topic at hand, I'll start getting on Xbox Lives case when it get maliciously attacked, brought down for a few weeks straight with zero access & have the company not warn me right away of any potential Credit Card leak.

9 years, going on 10, of XBL membership and I can only recall 4, maybe 5 times, I had an issue with XBL. And every time it was either fixed within an hour or I could at least still chat with friends & game.

Not really much to apologize for. Issues happen. I do understand it can be frustrating though. I had some issues on and off. And I know some others that have as well. I had trouble seeing messages from friends, joining friends, signing in, etc.

I think they could explain it. I would guess though the issue is that:

1. They have some hardware issues they are having to fix or some hardware upgrades.

2. They are preparing new software and implementing it and it is causing some issues they are fixing or it is just a general software issue.

Not really much they could say about it really that would help because none of us could fix it. The status notice is enough really. Unless it is a data breach or something that is about all we need to know.

Remember, this service is going to undergo some issues as they change things over and add new features for the One. It is not as simple as just putting the stuff on there. And it will effect both platforms at times.

 

there is no reason to apologize or explain the issues, unless i've missed something, MS has never guaranteed 100% up time of their services, in fact, if any internet based company claims 100% up time, they are most likely deceiving you, and chances are if
MS came out and explained with the issue was, it would either be way way over the heads of 99% of the people, some people will misunderstand it, or take it out of context and put a negative spin on it.

i'm with Lofty, this is a teething issue, MS is releasing updates every month to the X1, chances are they are doing weekly or bi-weekly updates to the servers for the updates and prepare for future features and changes. i have been lucky enough to only have
Xbox Live down once or twice and was back up within a short period of time, and twice that i could get into Live, but my friends list wouldn't load.

and Lloydy 25 just enjoys kicking the bee hive most of the time to get a reaction out of people, ignoring his posts is the best way of handling him.

 

Regardless of OPs intent, makes a vaild point in this thread... I have noticed quite a few more XBL services issues of late. That said, it's never been so responsive and easy to find information... literally any problem shows on the Xbox Live service status
page almost immediately (which is even a relatively new area), these problems seem to get resolved within an hour. I remeber it used to go down for quite a few hours and scrambling around trying to find info... so overall I'd confidently say it's improved
vastly.

 

^^^ I do male a valid point, and the fact that Live has had problems again this evening backs that up. But a vocal minority see it as their duty to make personal attacks rather than discuss the very real topic.

1. Pretend to be unbiased. "I own both consoles! I can't be biased!"

2. Pretend to be starting discussions for a valid reason. "I genuinely want an explanation on why Live had some issues! I'm not just doing this to constantly pick at the negatives of the Xbox One! I know that's all I do, but that's just a coincidence! Honest!!!"

3. Act like the victim and call everyone else biased. "I'm just an innocent, unbiased gamer and people are calling me names! All those who don't like what I say are just massive Xbots!"

It is pathetic and I'm glad people see right through it.

You gotta give respect to get it, keep on knocking the Xbox one on Xbox forums and expect no one to care what you say.

 

As far as the topic. There have been quite a lot of service alerts. But my online play has not been effected. Only one day, which was what 24hrs said was Saturday, and I can confirm that because I was helping numerous people in Ambassador Chat. And it
was only that they could not see their friends.

 

There was once in particular was it last year, when XBL was down for a whole day. On 360, beacons didn't work, couldn't track friends, couldn't join parties. Sunday last week couldn't play games multiplayer until the afternoon (except COD BO2 since it doesn't
use M's servers). I'm about to go to bed as it's night for me, and tonight, when I try to launch some games on my 360 (happy wars, COD BO2, a world of keflings), all I got was a black screen and when I tried to issue a command to my Xbox Guide Dashboard menu
and it tried to carry it out, my slim 250gb console just froze. One of my other friends experienced the same thing to when she tried to start Minecraft. We eventually managed to play. One of my other NZ friends said yes XBL has being having issues.

Maybe the cold has being getting to the XBL servers. It is after all winter in NZ and Australia.
