Xbox live pre pay subscriptions

i currently have xbox live through a month long subscription which runs out 10 feb cant seem to add 12 month pre paid subscription is there a time limit of when you can add these

Xbox Live Gold has only ever been able to be purchased with a credit card/pay pal or with pre-paid Gold subscription cards.

As far as my experience goes with prepaid cards, they don't expire. I don't think I ever remember seeing an expiration date on the cards (except for trial time). It's always best to add them as soon as possible.

Keep in mind that you can stack Gold time on top of your current subscription. I believe it can be stacked for up to 2-3 years. You should be able to enter your 12 month prepaid code in right now, extending your subscription to February
2018 (according to your post).

Unfortunately if the subscription is cancelled there is no way to reverse that. You can pay to subscribe again to xbox live or you can purchase pre paid 3 or 12 monthly subscriptions

you cannot use your balance to pay for live, live is a service that can renew hence you need a payment option attached or a pre paid subscription code.
