Xbox live - paying with xbox balance

Hi;

I purchased some xbox live gift cards and have redeemed them on my account with no problem.

i had planned to buy xbox gold and some games out of the balance - when I go to xbox gold subscription, the account balance shows but will not let me select.

is there any way around this?

maybe to phone up and get balance converted ?

stuff regarding the XBOX LIVE GOLD memberships

hey everyone, so i recently went to redeem some moneys for my microsoft account, then i went to the xbox live gold store screen, and when i went to prepare for purchase, there was no option to pay with your account balance.. apparently you can pay the game
pass with your account balance, but not live gold? microsoft, just please make paying with your account balance on live gold a thing now. i didnt use my money just to buy a gift card and see that i cant use it on live gold.

 

Trouble Renewing Membership

Earlier today I was trying for nearly thirty minutes to renew my Xbox LIVE Gold Membership by paying with my Microsoft account balance. It was to no avail. I have enough money in my account for a month of Xbox LIVE Gold but whenever I try to choose that
payment option, it grays out. Please help.

 

Sorry but you can't use your account balance to pay for xbox live.

You would need a credit/debit card,paypal account or a live subscription card.

 

Xbox live subscriptions as implied with the name subscriptions requires a reoccuring payment option as it has to be able to be charged multiple times

If you want one time use you must use a prepaid code
