Xbox live party chat, no sound

I have just recently been banned from communications for 1 week. After my suspension has been lifted i have found that i cannot hear anyone in party chats and nobody seems to be receiving messages still. Is there some kind of network issue or anything else
I myself can do?

Skype replacing Parties?

I'm hoping they keep Xbox Live Party because tonnes of people use it. Xbox Live ^"PARTY"^ sounds cool than "skype-chat" unless they name it "skype party" or something, to me it is. Xbox Live Party is a feature which Sony has not been able to match.

It may just be the no sound party glitch.

When that happens I turn off my xbox by holding the power button when it's off I turn it back on, I join the party and I make sure that we all block each other then unblock each other when doing that you should be able to hear each other.

This method works 70% of the time, always worked for me and worked for almost everyone I informed.

You may have been in game chat while you where in an Xbox Live Party. Check the features in your party settings to make sure you are in Xbox Live Party chat and not in game chat.

Is there cross-console Party Chat? i.e. since it’s all “Xbox Live,” can people on Xbox 360s Party Chat with their friends on Xox One?

WHITTEN: For a variety of technical reasons – including the sound quality that I talk about below – we don’t support voice chat between the two systems. You will still be able to send and receive text messages to friends on both systems, however.

It's not meant to be "party chat" but "chat". Whether ingame or party. But the buttons are not switching between game or party chat, but to control the balance between game sounds and voice chat.
