    Xbox live party cant unmute my friend


    So recently as in the past day or so, when some of my friends join my parties they are permanently muted. I have tried unmuting them, made sure we had a mutual friendship, made sure that they were unblocked, and still nothing. It is only happening to some friends which is odd. Yesterday it was a different friend that i couldnt unmute, but today i can hear him...

    My NAT type is open, and i have already tried all of those fixes and none of them worked.

    Original Xbox One

    I have connected to the party with a different account and could hear them fine.

    What i have suspected is that it is a glitch with the blocking system (not that i have tried to block them or anything). Xbox doesn't say they are blocked, but i guess in the party they actually are. I have no clue how to fix this, because i have tried all of the "fixes" online, and have tried me and my

    friend's ideas. Still no success.

    I came here as a last resort hoping that one of you, or a microsoft employee could help me out!

    Hi all,

    If you are still seeing this happen let's try a cold boot of the console by unplugging it for a full 5 minutes. If that does not help then the next step will be to try a

    quick factory reset     being sure to keep your games and apps installed when asked to do so.

    I also have this issue and so does my son. He has a friend and his friend is unable to unmute him. He didn't place him on mute in the first place. He tries to unmute on his friends list but it just reverts back. I have his friend on my list and he is muted
    under my account....through choice :). But I too can't unmute him now. Tried on my friends list, reverts back to muted. Tried by going under my profile, going to following, selecting muted, unmuting him there.....still the same.

    Anybody got any ideas? Could Fortnite have anything to do with it? Tried going in to party, then going to in game chat, leaving it for 10 secs, going back to party and unmuting. Has worked for some....not for me. Please, help me. my son won't stop moaning
    about it. Is it something that just resolves itself or is that it?
