Xbox Live Parties Destroyed the Social Gaming Community

Does anyone else miss the days before Xbox Live Party Chats? There is almost no social interaction in online gaming anymore for Xbox Consoles. No one is ever in game chat, working as a team is nearly impossible, etc. Communication is almost completely dead
since they've introduced Party Chats and it's sad. There needs to be playlists in-game that do not allow you to be in a Party Chat for those looking for a true Xbox Live Experience.

Maybe no good, at all. The Xbox is a social device, as much as it's a gaming device. Live is designed for social gaming.

If none of that interests you, then just get a PC and play single player games.

I agree with you 100%. There are others who won't play unless they are in party chat though. I totally despise it.

Yeah,part of the blame lies with certain parts of the xbox live community.

People don't want to hear "your mum" jokes,screaming kids,squeaky voices & loud music coming through headsets when playing online.

 

For me when I joined there was no party chat and let me tell you the community killed social gaming for me at least.

 

I remember playing COD2 or battlefield 2 modern combat in the early days of the 360. I can honestly say that i met so many cool people in the ingame chat in those games, though now ingame chat just doesn't exist anymore...makes one miss the old days.

 

Yeah,on the original xbox & the early days of the 360 in game chat was fun & you could meet some great people.

I still play with people I met on PGR2 all those years ago.

Now it's either dead or full of noisy kids.

 

I met some really cool people on normal in-game chat on Titanfall.

 

Yes, Party Chat killed social gaming.

Made so many great friends on "Gears Of War" and "Chromehounds".

 

have to agree i still have a circle of mates i speak with from cod 4 and mw that we all met in game chat.

funnily enough we all chat in party now.

mainly because we get fed up hearing a load of random daft noises but we also still game together aswell so kind of helps

 

There are times where I still venture into the game chat to hear what people are saying. I mostly like to stick to party chat simply because I was tired of all the screaming, music, and so on. I don't really play many object based game modes in most games,
but if I do, most of the time people are pretty cool and don't get on my nerves. But for anything like team deathmatch in COD, I stick with party chat.

No, Party Chat did not "kill social gaming". As stated above the Community "killed social gaming". Party Chat was not the cause, it was a reaction to a problem being the Community. The Fault is 100% at blame with the mouth-breathers who lacked any and all social
skills to effectively communicate with another human being.

Everyone who is angry or upset with Party Chat, your feelings are misdirected. Wrong target, try picking the correct target, the Community itself.

 

The quick mute feature was (and remains) the solution to all of your "I personally don't want to listen to that" chat issues online and in most games can be implemented faster than it takes to set up a party.

Can't really accept "the community wanting to avoid mouthbreathers" so that is rejected.
