XBox Live Parental Control issue for Destiny online game play

When I'm trying to connect to Destiny on my Xbox 360, XBox Live comes up with parental Control and blocks me all my settings are ok, I'm over 18. I have an Xbox Silver account, Bungie say that nothing is wrong at their end. This needs sorted.

Hi, do you get any error message or code when you try to play online? Could it be parental settings on your account blocking you from online play/joining parties?

If he wants to play an online game with his friends he will need a Gold Account. If you are worried about talking over XBL you can limit what he hears, who he hears, among other things. You can set up parental controls as well as privacy settings for your

You need a gold susbcription in order to play online.

 

since when did this happen, I have been playing destiny for the last 4 months with only a silver subscription, also if this was the case there would be no point in having any game for the xbox and I might as well switch to playstation.

 

Gold has always been a requirement in order to play online. I'm not sure how you would have been able to play online for that long without one.

FYI, you do have to pay to play online with the PS4.

 

Thanks, but I have been playing destiny with Xbox Live Silver, from January, with the exceptions of strikes, raids and the crucible.

 

Sounds like you have been playing the Demo version.

 

No. He is playing the full version like me. We all can play Destiny with a silver account but cannot do raid, crucible or strikes. We can do story missions, bounties and patrolling.

This issue is still investigating by bungie.

 

Same here. I've got the basic XBL membership and like Wheels1064 and venomz01 I can play online, just not participate in any strikes, raids or crucibles activities. I can play the base game and expansions, though.

Tried playing Destiny this morning, only to get the same parental controls message. Never had it come up before today. I thought it might have had something to do with a power outage we had late last night, but obviously I'm not the only one.

I already contacted Xbox support regarding this issue, but haven't received a reply back from them. I hope either they or Bungie can get it resolved, as I'd like to get back to my level 26 Hunter.

 

Could this have something to do with the new update that are being pushed out today?

"Pardon our dust! We are pushing a patch live today. Players will be returned to the title screen from their activities and then be required to log in to Destiny again after installing the patch."

 

Oh... hmm. That might be what's causing the problem. Haven't been prompted to download/install any new patches or updates yet when I try to go in. Hopefully that's all it is.

 

Looks like they fixed the issue, as after downloading the "Destiny Compatability Pack 3" I was able to access the game again

 

I,m having the same problem i have just the basic xbox live account and have been able to play the game ok.
