Xbox live on 2nd console won't show for my son unless I log in

Hi

When my son is playing on our console he is not able to see all online play for Destiny 2. I have to go and log myself in, in order for gold to be accessible to him.

Our home console is our main one but is there a way for my gold access to be instantly available on our 2nd console, without me having to log in?

The only way would be to set the 2nd console as your Home. However, that will remove the ability to share with anyone else on the main console. Otherwise, you would need to purchase a subscription on your son's account.

My console in the front room is set as home on my account with xbox live. I can log in and play but can't play my sons games that he downloaded. On his console. Different account. Unless I log in on his account.

When before we both had access to this game and played together. 1 game 2 consoles.

I goto my sons room. He has no xbox gold and can't play games that I have downloaded and paid for when before we could. He also cant sign into gold and play online unless I pay for gold. For 2nd time.

I find all this very confusing. Surely it should just detect ip and share content without all this confusion.

Mistress Sara thanks so much for the reply! When I go to remove the My Home Xbox setting from my xbox so I can apply it to my son's xbox, I get a message saying he won't be able to play downloaded games on this console unless he logs in as me, so in other
words he won't be able to play rocket league on his account on my console. At least, that's my concern. In your experience, is this correct?

i purchased more then one game from xbox live they only show up on my 360 or when i log in here no where else not my xbox one or my series x and i have no cloud storage on either one off them so xbox is ripping me off making me buy them again .

They won't show unless they are in this list. I'm afraid if it's not in that list then they won't show to download as they are not compatible.

Yes, that is what you will have to do.

The my home xbox feature is meant for use on one console where everyone on that console can share the games and gold of that one account.

It's not meant to be on two consoles all the time to avoid paying for gold or games. If you'd like you can switch your physical consoles and you can log in on the other console that is not your home and play your games while your son plays on your console
that currently has your My Home Xbox on it, and that would work.
