Xbox Live on 2 consoles?.

Hello all, I have one Xbox One console that my son has just moved into his bedroom (this was Home console with my account as well).

I'm looking at buying my daughter an Xbox One S 1tb for the living room so we will have 2 seperate consoles.

Will I need to buy another Xbox Live subscription for the new console or is there any way to share the one subscription over 2 consoles?.

Also I have my Xbox username/ tag on my son's console with him as a child account. Can I register the new Xbox with my details as well and have daugher on child account or do I have to start from scratch?.

Any help or pointers appreciated!.

The new Xbox will need it's own subscription with that new account also being set as the home Xbox account. You may want to start a family account so you can monitor things, set restrictions or time limits etc. Here is how to do that -

Hopefully I can set up "Family controls" over both consoles easily enough.

Yes. You can use an account on any console, but you can only be signed into one console at a time.
