Xbox Live offline

Over and over and over again this summer I've had XBOX live not be able to connect even though it says my internet connection is fine. What's the deal? It regularly happens between 11pm and 2am central time almost nightly. And it lasts anywhere from 5 minutes
to 3 hours or more and then magically fixes itself sometime in between without me having to change anything.

You can play offline but why would you want to? Xbox Live is amazing.

As I understand it this problem caused by a probable miscommunication among xbox live servers and your Ip address.

When this issue occurs try to sign out and sign in again and if that doesn't works remove your account from the console and download it again.

If they played it while offline, nothing would happen to your account unless they signed into Xbox Live on that console with that profile. There is no way for the account to update unless that console that played it offline signed in into Xbox Live.

Hi there,

only one xbox live account can be connected to a specific Microsoft Account, so if you want to 'upgrade' an offline profile to a xbox live account you will need to use a Microsoft Account that doesn't have an xbox live account already connected.

So if you don't have an Microsoft Account without an Xbox live account connected you will need to create a new Microsoft Account if you want to 'upgrade' that offline profile.

As posted on our website that is the fix. If you’re offline due to an outage of your home network, ISP, or Xbox Live, we recommend not setting your Xbox to offline. Although you’ll be offline either way, leaving your Xbox set to online lets it automatically
reconnect to Xbox Live as soon as possible.
