Xbox Live network ports for gaming (multiplayer) versus downloading

    Hi,

    I came across
    this support article
which indicates the ports that Xbox Live uses, but doesn't distinguish between ports used for gaming versus ports used for downloading games/updates/etc. Is there a dedicated port for downloads, or does Xbox Live use the same ports
for downloading as well as for multiplayer?

The reason I ask is because I'd like to deprioritize game downloads in my QoS settings on my router while prioritizing multiplayer gaming. I currently have the Xbox One set to the highest QoS priority which works great most of the time, but hogs my bandwidth
when I'm downloading a game (like I am right now).

Thanks in advance for your help!

    :)

    Port Forwarding to Xbox Live

Ports required to use Xbox Live

These ports must be open for Xbox Live to work:

    • Port 88 (UDP)
    • Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)
    • Port 53 (UDP and TCP)
    • Port 80 (TCP)
    • Port 500 (UDP)
    • Port 3544 (UDP)
    • Port 4500 (UDP)
Note Some game developers require you to open additional ports. You should always check the game developer's website to see if the game you're playing needs additional ports to work. We've gathered some ports you might need
and have added them to the
Additional Network Ports for Multiplayer Gaming
    forum.

If you're connected to a network through your workplace or school, ask the network administrator to open these ports.

If you receive a NAT warning when you connect to Xbox Live, see the
    Xbox One Multiplayer Game Solution

Trying to Fix Xbox Live Multiplayer settings on Pc

    HI,

Have you tried the following at
    https://beta.support.xbox.com/help/hardware-network/connect-network/network-ports-used-xbox-live

Network ports used by Xbox Live on Xbox One

A network port lets your Xbox One console communicate with the Xbox Live servers and other Xbox One consoles over the internet.
To let your Xbox One console communicate with Xbox Live, you might need to open or forward ports, which means you'll be making a configuration change to your firewall or network hardware, such as a router. Port forwarding for Xbox One is done on
your router or other network hardware, not on the Xbox console itself.

These ports must be open for Xbox Live to work:

    • Port 88 (UDP)
    • Port 3074 (UDP and TCP)
    • Port 53 (UDP and TCP)
    • Port 80 (TCP)
    • Port 500 (UDP)
    • Port 3544 (UDP)
    • Port 4500 (UDP)

Note Some game developers require you to open additional ports. You should always check the game developer's website to see if the game you're playing needs additional ports to work.

You can also find information about opening ports on your router at the
Port Forward website. This website lists commonly used ports for various apps and games, but if your router isn't listed or you need more help, contact your internet service provider
    or router manufacturer.

If you're connected to a network through your workplace or school, ask the network administrator to open these ports.

If you receive a NAT warning when you connect to Xbox Live, see the
    Xbox One Multiplayer Game Solution
    .

    Modern warfare trouble

    Hi Rock,

Thanks for coming to the forums. If the game pass ultimate is active that contains Xbox live gold. Have you tried to play any other multiplayer games? This may be a connection to the game server issue. If able to connect to other multiplayer games, try
rebooting your network hardware. Personally had issues with call of duty servers myself was the only game servers had issues with i ended up

    port forwarding
    and it helped.

    Thanks,

    Brad

Have you tried changing the Port setting in your xbox network settings tab? Perhaps your router is blocking the multiplayer port that Xbox Live uses.
