Xbox Live - Microsoft Store: Game Reviews

Helloooo,

All of the games on the Microsoft Store accessed from the Xbox have reviews. There is a thumbs up and thumbs down where people can either like or dislike the review. Just like a Youtube video.

As I'm going through the games and reading the reviews, I'm finding that most games nowadays only have thumbs down. There could be 5 negative and 5 positive reviews right next to each other and they all have dislikes. Not a single 'like'. In the whole scheme of things, I know this is minor but is there really a necessity for a dislike button.......or even a like button for that matter.

It just seems like people troll the reviews on the Xbox Live Microsoft Store and spam a thumbs down for every review, regardless of the content. I read a number of good game reviews that have up to 20 dislikes and 0 likes - and there's nothing emotive about them, in fact some of them are in favour of the game.

Will the dislike / like buttons ever be removed from the game reviews in the Xbox Live Microsoft Store?

I think the 'like' buttons are a good idea. But I don't see the point of a 'dislike' button.

I'm afraid we don't know the answer to that. Personally I believe the buttons are great, what they should do instead is limit the usage to only those who have actually played the game.

You can leave a feedback here feedback.xbox.com and if others share the same view and enough up votes is earned, it'll be looked into.

If you haven't already, I recommend signing out and back in to see if the issue corrects itself!

It could have something to do with your privacy settings on Xbox Live. In the few reviews I've put on a couple games, I've never had a problem with them not being visible. I've even had a developer comment about my review one time so... maybe check your
privacy settings and make sure everything your comfortable with is public. I think the Microsoft Store reviews could count as an extension of Xbox Live.
