    I was given a xbox live message notification on the xbox app saying redeem a $10 gift card and when I pressed on the notification it took me to the xbox app saying nothing about the $10 gift card

    messages from Xbox LIVE will have the gamertag "LIVE" and will have the Xbox LIVE logo where the gamertag information should be, this is how you tell if it a real message or a spam / scam message.
