Xbox live message that won't go away

I just upgraded to xbox one x and it shows I have a message from xbox live. When I goto the message it says there isn't one.

When I log onto xbox on my mac/pc/phone (tried them all with different browsers) it shows I have a message from xbox live from months ago, but won't allow me to delete it.

I've done a soft reset, full shut down, removed my account and readded it and this message notification just won't go away. It's driving me insane.

I have tried searching previous posts with no luck, does anyone have any suggestions before I lose my mind? ��

I believe the recommended procedures you already did. It may be a bug that will disappear at any moment, it happened to me that a message from MIcrosoft appear available when I was going to open it had nothing, but disappeared the next time I logged into
the console.

I checked, I don't have a pending friend request or anything.

It's possible you have a friends request sent via a 360 & the sender is not on xbox one

Click on your friends list on this site & see if there are any friends requests pending.

I had the exact same issue & that was the problem

That's what I figured. I've seen some people have just replaced the disk drive itself, but that might be beyond me. Though it's not like I have any warranty to worry about. Hopefully I can just find a used Slim and all will be good. Thanks for the quick

There's no sanctioned fix other than sending the console into MS for repair.

If it was me, I'd just buy another console. I'd put an extended warranty on it as well.
