Xbox Live membership won't work

I purchased a 12 month gold membership a couple hours ago through the Xbox One dashboard. Whenever I attempt to play online it says "The current profile is not allowed to play on Xbox Live".

When I go to my subscriptions it says the 12 month trial is in effect. I also got the email confirmation but it still is not working.

1month bonus xbox live gold membership

This 1 month live gold membership which came free with the Xbox 360 won't allow me to connect with friends online .. It says you must be an xbox live gold member to join the party. Why won't the membership work properly

You are still showing silver here. Sometimes it takes a while for everything to sync up. Try logging out and logging back in.

I'm having same problem. Bought 3 month card and entered it in 4 days ago it accepted it but still won't let me play live

Be sure to check if the subscription is shown at
http://billing.microsoft.com be aware that you should login with the account that you used to redeem the code for or you bought the Gold subscription.

If all looks fine and active on that link, try power cycling the console like shown here:

support.xbox.com/.../power-cycle-console

If the Gold is not shown on the account, you may need to contact Xbox Support (By Phone or Microsoft Support Chat) via
support.xbox.com/contact-us

If any non Xbox one live region it won't work as not all Xbox live regions are one regions

If you migrated to a non Xbox live region it won't work either

Also prepaid memberships and currency don't transfer over

You should be able to see that I have a silver membership, I probably won't get on xbox live until I get a gold membership smart a##.

Unfortunately, you won't be able to create an Xbox Live Gold account without the Xbox Live Gold membership, and that goes for the 360 accounts as well.
